Justin Walker is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He comes to us with a broad range of experiences ranging from teaching at an alternative school in Maywood, Illinois, and working a Group Living Residential Specialist in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, to working as both a Police Officer and Student Engagement Advocate in Urbana, Illinois. Justin is well versed in the areas of youth development, behavior modification, crisis intervention, and restorative practices.

In his current role, he is a Restorative Justice Coordinator for a community organization on Chicago’s Southside. His core philosophy is that all behavior has meaning and that as youth care providers, we are to focus on trauma-informed care while emphasizing building resiliency in the populations that we serve. With this methodology, youth can develop the skills to be self-sustaining and self-sufficient.
